Another Hat
Same pattern as the april 2011post. Zelfde patroon als april 2011 post.
To give this hat a tight fit around the head I left out knitting 5 stitches every 5 or 6 rows or so. Turning the work 5 stitches before the end. A little cable before this 5 stitch edge will hide the little holes caused by turming before the row is finished. and give a nice seperation. The flower beads are sewed on.
The side picot stitches are knitted on with this technique,

Another hat. Knitted with the help of a knittingmachine :)

A hat that stays on. Een muts die blijft zitten

A woolly hat that stays on in a wheelchair head support. I tried different shop bought ones but all of them slipped from girly's head when stretching or moving in the head rest. Then I found this beautiful chunky yarn and couldn't keep my fingers off. The hat is knitted with only one seam at the back of the head. I knitted a strip of head width, twice the length of the head. This strip when folded in half forms the head part. The collar has been knitted around on four needles or you could use a circular needle. Start the collar with the end needle of the strip and stitches you pick up from the first row of the strip. I did a few (5 or 6 or so) needles of ribbing and then added some stitches increasing in every fifth or sixth row in the knit stitch of the ribbing. The edge around the face is done with a chenille yarn. Pick up stitches at the front edge to knit this thinner yarn on. The thinner chenille yarn gives it a bit of tightness around the face that helps to keep the hat on and a lovely furry like appearance.
The hat is shown on the photo over the coat, just to show the collar. But of course it goes underneath the coat to add a bit of warmth. And then of course I had to do a green one to go with the green coat

Jacket superstar

1 remodelling a jacket or coat. Een jas(je) ombouwen
Adaptive coats can be boring and make you stand out even more. This jacket can be put on and of without lifting out of wheelchair or removal of harness straps.
The jacket has no back. I used the cut away back fabric to make a fastening band and attached this to the collar and upper back . To make a comfortable fit I needed most of this fabric. Even with a good sized jacket I need this fastening tape to be a good 5 to 8 cm or so. Two snap fasteners in this band to close it in the neck.
